Over the past few weeks there has been significant progress made on the Kennedy Library transformation. The work is on schedule for the building to open fall 2025.
Key milestones in the renovation project include the installation of the main roof and the completion of the stair framing on the north side of the building.
Additionally completed is the library’s exterior glazing (window systems), which will enhance the building’s energy efficiency while creating a brighter, more inviting space for everyone.
The Cal Poly community can also look forward to the Level 1 renovation introducing a new Julian’s Café, an exhibition space, print and copy services, IT services, an active learning lab and an expanded Hub24 study space.
While the Kennedy Library is undergoing transformation, there are plenty of study spaces available across campus to support students’ learning. These locations will carry on with a full range of library resources.
In fact, library users can download the Waitz App for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play to see real-time occupancy of study spaces.
Main library service points, such as Crandall Gym (Bldg. 60), continue to keep students and faculty connected on campus. Here, they can access various services including course reserves, interlibrary loans, research help and Data/GIS help.
